How It Works
- Naegele's Rule: EDD = LMP + 1 year - 3 months + 7 days
- Average Pregnancy: 40 weeks (280 days) from LMP
- Gestational Age: Time elapsed since first day of LMP
- Trimesters: 1st (0-12 weeks), 2nd (13-27 weeks), 3rd (28-40 weeks)
Important Notes
- Most babies are born between 37 and 42 weeks
- Only 4-5% of babies are born on their exact due date
- Ultrasound in first trimester is most accurate for dating
